Concrete Imaging & Inspection

Concrete Imaging & Inspection

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a non-invasive, non-destructive geophysical surveying technique that is used to produce a cross-sectional view of objects embedded within the subsurface in minutes, before cutting or drilling. Quite often, non-metallic, inaccessible, unknown or abandoned utilities cannot be located with traditional cable and pipe locators. When this occurs, GPR must be used in conjunction.

Concrete imaging can be used in the design phase as well as the construction phase of a project. Utilizing concrete imaging during the construction phase of a project will prevent needless damages, disruption of services and injuries to workers. Concrete imaging enables the engineer or contractor to receive accurate, real time information which will prevent costly change orders.

In addition, GPR can also be used as a safe alternative to x-ray for determining the location and depth of objects embedded within concrete structures.

Advantages over Radiography (X-Ray):

  • Cost savings.
  • Single surface scan produces multiple views throughout scan area.
  • Rapid set up time.
  • Fast data collection and real-time results produced on site.
  • No radiation risk with GPR; no need to clear the scan area.
  • Any size area can be scanned without having to set up equipment again.
  • Scan hard to reach areas in confined spaces with GPR.

Our services include:
