Quality Level "D"

Every design project begins with the gathering of as-built information about existing facilities on the site, especially utilities. While available as-builts are useful as a planning tool, they are frequently out of date or inaccurate and reliance on them is a high risk.

Quality Level "C"

Surveyors mobilize to the project site to map the above ground utility features. This first step yields valuable information, but is not sufficient to avoid sub-surface conflicts during construction.

Quality Level "B"

It is at this point the power of subsurface utility mapping is applied to the project. Without even breaking ground, Southeastern's staff uses electronic designation locators to identify what's really under the ground. With this external visual, the team can move to the next phase of verifying subsurface utilities.

Quality Level "A"

Southeastern's staff will verify subsurface utility lines with a non-destructive, air-vacuum excavation system to minimize hazard to the utility and the operator. This vacuum system is capable of removing the soil, debris and underground water until the utility is visible. At this time the horizontal and vertical position of the underground feature is verified, mapped and stored digitally for graphic processing.
