Why Select Southeastern Surveying?
Land Surveying by SSMC applies a complete surveyor's toolkit including several GPS systems, electronic field books and proprietary data collection format, and graphic production using MicroStation, ArcInfo, AutoCAD Land Development, CAiCE, and GeoPak tools to deliver compatible data in ready-to-use form to our clients and team members. Qualifications by the Federal Highway Administration, the Florida Department of Transportation, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection testify that SSMC employs the staff, equipment, and methods suitable for three dimensional surveying and mapping to the highest standards. Schedule and budget compliance are full time concerns, with daily tracking and reporting by an in-house designed system customized to the requirements of a full-service mapping group.
Subsurface Utility Designation and Location (Test Holes) by SSMC’s Utility Division, employs the best electronic sensing devices as well as GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) and records research to designate underground utilities and then uses highly mobile, safe, non-destructive vacuum excavation equipment to uncover and positively identify them. The SSMC Utility Crews are additionally equipped with RTK GPS Receivers, which enable them to quickly and accurately locate the exposed utility when performing Test Holes or the designated utility when designating is being performed. Since utility crews are cross-trained in field survey methods with survey crews, the three dimensional mapping of utilities can follow the designation and location seamlessly. In every case, the close integration of utility and survey crews delivers the highest quality and precludes the need to out-source any part of the underground mapping process.
Geographic Information Systems are created and maintained by SSMC’s GIS Division. This division has thirteen years of experience designing and developing digital maps and collecting data for their associated databases. The division can also supply the setup and training required to help clients derive maximum returns from the extensive functionality of this complex and relatively young technology. Utility company service areas and stormwater management districts are just two examples of information systems recently delivered that bring the benefits of unique maps with map-to-database linkages to large complex facilities. GPS equipped field teams from the GIS Division are readily available to furnish the data that populates the databases. All database design and development, data conversion, field data collection and data delivery are managed under a common supervisory structure.
Finally, SSMC is excited about the prospect of working with you to design and build a functional, accurate, and complete GIS database that will serve your needs for years to come. Give us the opportunity to work with you and you won't be disappointed!
